The ergonomic caulking gun is physically more comfortable, has greater aesthetic styling, thus more visually appealing, and is more eco-friendly than its predecessors.
The caulking gun is more comfortable to use due to a greater surface area in contact with your palm. This allows for greater control of the gun.
Instead of the conventional ‘pulling’ of the trigger, the new ‘squeeze’ of the trigger takes the pressure off individual fingers and distributes the load onto the entire hand.
The quick release feature also allows the can to be released more efficiently whilst also improving single hand use.
The curves of the handles consist of contours that are comfortable for all users and provide an organic aesthetic feeling.
As the definition of pleasurable products has trended towards the use of ecologically sustainable materials, glass-filled nylon is primarily used in this caulking gun. Even so, with high compressive and yield strength, along with greater rigidity, the gun is gratifying to another level. Aluminium is used at the back to provide a light, yet rigid rear and is also a recyclable metal.
i love the simple shapes and how it makes the action seem so user friendly, but i would expect suh a comfortable gun to be marketed to someone who does that action repeatedly like a plumber or, i perhaps would make the parts of the gun where the user has, such as the most contact with such as the trigger one bright colour
ReplyDeleteI quite like the fun shape that you have made on this caulking gun and I have held the product in person and it is pleasurable to hold as described. The handle really fits my hand well. This is a bit of a double edged sword in that in your presentation I agree with both you and Mar. Mar stated that you should make the release trigger more subtle or slightly hidden as it isn't something that is used so often, and I agree that it could be a bit more subtle, however I also strongly agree with your point that you might like to change the tubes for different purposes. Overall I think your caulking gun is great to use and makes the initial product more pleasurable to use.
ReplyDeleteI really like the colour, shape and overall design of your caulking gun, it definately brings some pleasure to the user and has the fun factor, only thing I think may limit your product is when being used in confined spaces, there would be little mobility, but I think that would be a rare occurence. Overall, solid design, heaps good work! (Y)
ReplyDeleteIt is really nice design. I like its colur, smooth shape and I think that it is very pleasureable to hold in hand. The design is really different from existing caulking guns on the market. Good done.
ReplyDeleteI dont remember seeing your model but from the pictures in your posters it looks like a successful design. Having a lot of experience in using caulking guns I know that it is important for them to be ergonomic. The handles on your gun look smooth and comfortable and providing the leverage point was in the correct spot the gun looks like it would be great to use.
